Business Advertising skills

Whomever said that writing an advertisement was easy must of had plenty of practice; that doesn't mean it cannot be done, it just takes time and patience. All freelancers and independent contractors go through the phase of finding the right slogan, making a budget, your ad strategy and where to start posting your business sales. These are just a few basic ideas to get started but as you move forward more ideas will come.

Budget smart and invest wise

According to the Deleware chapter of SCORE, "Advertising is not merely a business expense; it’s an investment in building sales." Why you might ask? Before spending consider your return of investement (ROI). The money you invest should only be the same amount of what you expect to get back or over exceed in sales.

If you do not make money on your investment, then you can most likely expect to receive a loss. To make money is to spend money and it does pay to be budget smart and invest wise.

Make a statement

When writing your first classified ad, make it stand at attention. Make your ad powerful and gain the reader's attention. Roy Williams best described a customer's view of advertisements in one of his articles, "Today's customers are only half listening because their inner selves are asking, "What are they not telling me?"

In order to sell a product, your wording must be short, clear, and straight to the point. Adjectives are a great way to describe your product to the reader for the selling approach. Consider yourself as the customer for a moment and ask yourself out loud the same exact question. You may be able to find some interesting results in following that line of reason.
