Individual Medical Insurance
Insurance is one thing everyone needs and indivual medical insurance is something that will be eventually used and needed. Freelaners, independent contractors and even some telecommuters should look for a good insurance carrier with affordable premiums, deductables and copayments. Most of the insurance plans are underwritten polices to work with medium to larger sized firms so it may take awhile to locate an exact policy that fits your needs.
Health insurance research
Research all health policies available for individuals and the costs that come with it. Be sure to ask questions with whomever your insurance agent is; it is their job to tell you exactly what benefits you will be getting under that type of coverage. It is important to note that not all insurance policies are the same so if you are in doubt, ask; it is better to know the answer first before you get signed into a contract. Important questions to be aware of are things such as is the insurance provider an HMO or is it a PPO; what are the deductibles, copayments and prescription costs; what is the insurance rate after you pay the deductible - very important key questions. Something else to consider is are you needing just medical or dental also; do you want just individual insurance or does it need to be family coverage. You may think of more questions than those listed which is good, the more you know about health insurance the more prepared you will be when/if you need it.
